Wondering how to edit this U.S. County Entry?
The WikiProject U.S. Counties standards might help.

New evidence collected in 1946 lynching case

[edit]
  • Lynching information needs to be placed under lyching era type entries with redirection to Walton County, Georgia. The Moore's Ford lynching took place during the civil rights era at the old ford that is no longer in existence along the county line far to the east. The neighboring county is just as much of a location to the incident. The Walton County, Georgia entry is for statistical Greater Atlanta demographical and property values information and not a target for contemporary Southern Poverty Law activists, students, or others. There are legal evidence suits still in place by the families. However, please do feel free to include those findings under lynching era articles.Ncsr11 (talk) 18:52, 16 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
The History section of county articles is typically filled with information about settlement, economy, wars, memorials, and re-enactments. It is totally appropriate to add this sourced content about a major group of citizens, their treatment after the Civil War, and a nationally covered lynching and later investigation, re-enactment and memorial.Parkwells (talk) 15:26, 11 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I agree, it's just not for major breaking news events that could attack the county or cover strife as a news agenda. I added geo-coordinates to the Moore's Ford article
