Indications
[edit]I searched PubMed, Google Scholar, and the Cochrane Library for papers on indications for radiation therapy. I was unable to find a single paper giving an overview of the topic, as most papers only talk about indications for a single condition. If there was an overview anywhere then I might guess that it would be in a textbook. Anyway, I did not find one. Blue Rasberry (talk) 15:16, 1 November 2013 (UTC)

Article is confusing - mostly about EBRT but mentions others
[edit]The intro and most of the content seems to be just about external beam X-ray therapy - but other types are mentioned briefly. Its hard to work out which sections are just about X-ray therapy and which are more general. Should we mention the various types in the intro or make this more of a disambiguation page ? - Rod57 (talk) 12:39, 3 January 2018 (UTC)

Pictures
[edit]Hi. I have added some pictures to Commons that could be inserted in this article, just like i inserted them in Svwp. The description of them is that it is a mask created to stabilize the patience on during the pre-CT, and then use during the radiation therapy to make him (in this case) always come in the exact position. The black marks on the mask are put there at the CT, and the green lasers on the mask (and on the small tatoo on the body, in this case - not seen in the pictures) will be used for correct placement. I am not really sure where to put them and hope someone more used to enwp could help. Best regards, Adville (talk) 22:56, 14 December 2019 (UTC)
Discussion relevant to renaming unsealed source radiotherapy section
[edit]This is just a notice that I have posted a discussion at Talk:Unsealed source radiotherapy#Name change which may be relevant to the unsealed source radiotherapy section of this article (in as far as it makes sense for both names to be aligned, and that arguments for a particular name would apply to both). Beevil (talk) 13:05, 20 February 2021 (UTC)
- I have formally requested the page move Unsealed source radiotherapy → Radionuclide therapy - please see discussion here. I think the outcome of this request would have a strong case to also apply to the unsealed source radiotherapy section of this article. Beevil (talk) 12:23, 2 April 2021 (UTC)
SMART syndrome
[edit]After running across a reference to SMART syndrome in a BBC News video, and finding no mention on-wiki, I tracked down the acronym as meaning "Stroke-like migraine attacks after radiation therapy", a rare late side-effect of brain radiotherapy (2021 PubMed reference). I believe this should be added to the disambiguation page Smart, with a link to the side effects section of this article, but I find no mention of migraine or even headache in the article, and it is described as rare. So I don't feel competent to add it. Is there a more specialized article in which this belongs, such as brain tumor? Yngvadottir (talk) 22:00, 31 May 2023 (UTC)
