Michael Edward Stoyanov (born December 14, 1966)[1] is an American actor and writer, best known as Tony Russo on Blossom (1991-1995)

Biography

Stoyanov was born in Chicago, Illinois. He is of Bulgarian and Ukrainian descent.[2] He is best known for his role in the situation comedy Blossom as eldest sibling Anthony "Tony" Russo.[3] He left the show during the show's final season to write for Late Night with Conan O'Brien, a move he later said he regretted.[4]

Stoyanov left Late Night within a year and went on to briefly write for Mad TV and Mr. Show. Stoyanov trained with the Chicago improvisational group Second City. He also guest starred in the second season Quantum Leap episode "Another Mother", as Kevin Buckner, an aspiring teenage comedian who is kidnapped. He had a cameo as “Dopey”, one of the Joker's henchmen in the opening scene of the 2008 film The Dark Knight.
