At time of writing, this page is categorized within Monarchs, United Kingdom and British people. As British people is a subcategory of United Kingdom, is the United Kingdom redundant here? I think so, but the intent may be to imply some governmental or other more strongly binding link to the country, since we're talking about monarchs. I think I put it under United Kingdom (or left it there...) my thinking was indeed that they serve an institutional purpose so they have significance to the country as well as being significant individuals. Perhaps there needs to be some more explicit supercategory, such as British government or something. That could be a subcategory of United Kingdom and also whatever category gets created for government. It seemed rather asymmetrical to have a category "Scottish monarchs" without a corresponding category "English monarchs". To fix this, the choices were to remove "Scottish monarchs" or to add "English monarchs". Removing "Scottish monarchs" would have resulted in a "British monarchs" category page which more or less duplicated the List of British monarchs with less information and worse formatting, so I chose to add the "English monarchs" category. -- Derek Ross | Talk 03:31, 2004 Sep 10 (UTC)
