I thought this was universal, hehe. I'm in Brazil and this belief is well-spread here.

The idea of pregnant women craving certain foods, etc is very prevalent here in the U.S. too, and in all Western culture as far as I know. The tone of the article in implying otherwise should probably be fixed. Kundor 08:22, 26 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Italic textIt is an idea that is pretty much universal however, I don't know of anyone who believed their baby would look like what they crave. Here in the US cravings are normal for a pregnant women and widely accepted. The idea of the article is not only about cravings, it is also about the effects of cravings. About the animals also, never heard anything about animals. The only exception maybe someone joking around about an unborn child.
