[edit]There must be an error of her year of birth (1999). User:kt2
She was born in 1956 in New York so being that is says 1955 is only one year off not a big deal. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 149.151.192.150 (talk) 16:40, 4 March 2008 (UTC)

I am the photographer/owner of copyright of the image of Gish Jen on this page and want to take it down. I have a new and better photo of Gish Jen to add instead. Since I'm a new Wikipedia user, I'm not sure how to do this. Please advise. Romana RomanaPhoto (talk) 18:30, 25 September 2015 (UTC)
Also, according to Gish Jen, her birth date is Aug 12, 1955.RomanaPhoto (talk) 19:16, 25 September 2015 (UTC)

First generation American?
[edit]I'm not sure this usage is correct. I've always heard "first generation American" used to mean someone who immigrates from another country, and their children, like Gish Jen, are second generation Americans.
I'm thinking of editing the article for this, but I'd like to hear from the community first. Pithecanthropus4152 (talk) 21:45, 5 August 2020 (UTC)
- I have always thought that first generation American means the children of immigrants, born in the US. 108.27.29.131 (talk) 15:30, 13 July 2024 (UTC)
