A Yet another infobox image RFC on a biography and another example where the alternative is not a real improvement. The status quo is perfectly fine and that appeared to be okay in the discussion prior to this RFC. I'm not sure what's driving all these infobox image RFCs, but many of them are completely unnecessary. Nemov (talk) 20:42, 10 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Updated - new additions are even worse and changing the RFC options after 4 days is bizarre and further clouds the discussion. Nemov (talk) 15:23, 15 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
A, as the subject is deceased. We normally use official state portraits for sitting officials, but Mubarak passed in 2020 and had not been in office since 2011. SWinxy (talk) 01:54, 11 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
A is fine. i don't think either image is great: A is airbrushed, but B has a cluttered background, he's not in his prime, and there are plenty of other pictures in the article showing him as he actually appeared
B I prefer. It's more recent, he's looking into camera, it looks more realistic as he's older. But it looks like the consensus is for A, Tom B (talk) 22:34, 26 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
B per Tom B. More recent and looking into the camera. Some people voting A are status quo warriors and are only voting because "there is no reason to change it", which isn't a particularly helpful reason. CFA💬21:59, 28 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
A He's dead, so recency of image is irrelevant. The resolutions of A and B are about equivalent (though I expect a higher resolution version to exist), but A is better quality and is an official portrait. I think the B arguments above are quite lacking. Curbon7 (talk) 22:53, 29 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
A per my above comment that we typically use an image from somebody's "prime" after they have passed, as opposed to the most current one when living. Like for example Elizabeth II's portrait was changed after she died from this to this. nableezy - 15:59, 31 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Can someone add this image: Hosni Mubarak ritratto.jpg, which is Mubarak in 2009, to the article somewhere. Its a good image and shows him in his final years in charge of the country. DotCoderr (talk) 09:29, 21 September 2024 (UTC) DotCoderr (talk) 09:29, 21 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
