Public Opinion section correction request

[edit]

Under the "Public Opinion section" is states that: "A 2022 poll by the Pew Research Center, found that 47% polled said that women who had an abortion should face a penalty."

However, the referenced Pew Research Center poll says that 47% polled said there should be a penalty for situationa where the abortion occurs illegally. I request that the line be changed to "A 2022 poll by the Pew Research Center, found that 47% polled said that women who had an illegal abortion should face a penalty." 2603:6080:B207:AE70:1423:FE83:94A6:75E8 (talk) 01:04, 2 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

All denominations of Christianity and Judaism strongly oppose abortion in the second half of pregnancy when the mother’s life is not at stake. Also no limit might just mean no laws regarding abortion. 136.37.105.109 (talk) 20:41, 12 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Remove the political campaign photo of Harris/Walz under the section about Mifepristone. It's completely out of place and is current political advocacy. 64.222.144.28 (talk) 05:56, 11 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Abortion Bans in Developed Nations

[edit]

The paragraph below containing the following has a statement that is not backed by a reference which is also a false statement "Despite the view that it "gets the United States in line with other developed nations", it leaves out the fact that none of those nations ban abortion." As an example: "In most countries, abortion is permitted before the fetus is viable, which is usually around 12 weeks in Germany and Italy, and 14 weeks in France and Spain. The Netherlands and the United Kingdom have the longest term limits at 24 weeks." - This is even in the Wikipedia article for Abortion in Europe.

Though her statement may not be 100% accurate it is incorrect to have that line after the referenced fact.

"n September 13, 2022, Republican senator Lindsey Graham, who had previously stated that abortion should be left up to each state, introduced legislation that would ban abortion nationwide after 15 weeks of pregnancy with exceptions for rape, incest, and the life of the patient, named the Protecting Pain-Capable Unborn Children from Late-Term Abortions Act. This law would require states to ban abortion after 15 weeks, but it would not require states with stricter bans to allow it up to that point. Despite the view that it "gets the United States in line with other developed nations", it leaves out the fact that none of those nations ban abortion. Graham had previously introduced the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, which set the period at 20 weeks." 2001:8003:A0FF:9600:7CCB:2342:B165:E735 (talk) 10:21, 4 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
