help on article listed for deletion Blu mar ten
[edit]Hello, I noticed you saved the article on Good Looking Records from speedy deletion. Any chance you could leave a small comment on the article on GLR artist Blu mar ten?
Sorry I don't have a user page any more. I quit working seriously on wikipedia due to work commitments, I'm not a spam editor though, rest assured. Neither am I the artist or the article creator. Thanks again . 98.26.113.150 (talk) 05:36, 12 September 2008 (UTC)
Your Opinion Please?
[edit]Hello, can you take a look at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christine_breese and put in your vote to keep or delete, I am rather outnumbered by some non-spiritual people, could use someone who has a co-operative energy to look into the matter on a spiritual teacher article. Also please look into another article that was deleted that has been there for years at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/University_of_metaphysical_sciences but was deleted by a user as soon as I linked to it. - Well, it's been a week now that I've been an administrator and I'd like to take this moment to once again thank everyone who supported my RfA, and to let you all know that I don't think I've screwed anything up yet so I hope I'm living up to everyone's expectations for me. But if I ever fall short of those expectations, I'd certainly welcome folks telling me about it!

RfA thanks
[edit]Thank you very much for your support in my RfA, which passed on October 17, 2006 with a tally of 53/6/0. [edit]Themindset, thanks for your support on my request for adminship.
The final outcome was a robust 62/1/1, so I am now an administrator. If you ever have any questions about my actions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

[edit]Thank you for contributing to my RFA. Unfortunately it failed (final tally 26/17/3). As a result of the concerns raised in my RFA, I intend to undergo coaching, get involved in the welcoming committee and try to further improve the quality of my contributions to AFD and RFA. Hi themindset. I noticed in your rfa criteria that you've seen "many users show up and rack up 3500 edits in under a month, and then vanish." You have me interested, because I've certainly never seen any. So out of curiousity, could you point to some of these users? Thanks. Picaroon9288 02:30, 20 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit]Hey themindset,
I just wanted to thank you for your support in my recent request for adminship, which passed unanimously with a final tally of 38/0/0. I appreciate your trust, and will do my best to uphold it. Don't hesitate to let me know if you ever need anything. — TKD::Talk 05:30, 21 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit]I've finally had the time squeezed in during my long Wikibreak to thank the voters and commenters on my my RfA last month, and I thank you! I'll try again as previously planned in spring, in the time period between my high school graduation and enrollment in a university. This time, I'll have time to "prepare" (and not be on Wikibreak next time). Hopefully I'll win it easily. I'll be back to the Wikipedia soon, visting xfD everyday in addition. I was glad to see that you wrote a bit on why you were neutral on my nomination, unlike many on the page. What exactly is enough experience for you, in an RfA? Do you have any tips or suggestions for me on being a good Wikipedian or administrator? Thanks again, X [Mac Davis] (SUPERDESK|Help me improve)08:40, 24 October 2006 (UTC)

- Thanks for your concern, but I believe that when a page is considered for deletion, rewriting or improving it is a good idea. Many pages on e.g. AFD are "saved" by an editor who rewrites them to address the concerns of the community. >Radiant< 08:50, 9 November 2006 (UTC)

Image:Total science.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Total science.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
- On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Orphaned fair use image (Image:Xfxlogov2.png)
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Xfxlogov2.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article 960p, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. - NYC JD (make a motion) 14:24, 4 March 2007 (UTC)
Please do not make threats against other editors such as "Perhaps media coverage of your actions on wikipedia is what you're looking to accomplish?". Non-free use disputed for Image:Baseballstars.jpg
[edit]This file may be deleted. |
Thanks for uploading Image:Baseballstars.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read carefully the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content and then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 23:12, 31 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:7800gt.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the image description page and edit it to add
{{Replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template. - On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. Fair use rationale for Image:Chessgames.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Chessgames.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Old saw, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Old saw is a redirect to a non-existent page (CSD R1).
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Old saw, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Encyclopaedic?
[edit]My edits have been informative. Moneris is within its legal rights to press the fine print of its agreements. I only hope to be able to let potential customers know of this. To me, it is a loophole that Moneris should not allow. Unlike a similar stipulation in cell phone accounts, for instance, there is no overhead (equipment or otherwise) for Moneris to excuse this charge. I have never come across a mid-size or large corporation which blatantly enforces egregious charges against its customers as Moneris does as a matter of course. I had a telephone agreement that there would be no charge like this, but subsequent to my cancellation of the account, Moneris refused to honor that, and refused to return the money. That information, true and not disputed, about the company needs be cancelled from Wikipedia seems biased. The term "encyclopaedic" is your way of taking what you see as the "high ground". I see it as a term used to white wash. I will find other venues to let the facts out where you deny them. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.183.219.142 (talk) 19:16, 2 October 2008 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Allegra Denton
[edit]A tag has been placed on Allegra Denton requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. The article Manon Massé has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, all newly created biographies of living persons must have at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.
If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. TexasAndroid (talk) 20:43, 7 May 2012 (UTC)

The file File:MountPleasant-map.gif has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Orphaned map.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.
Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. ~ Rob13Talk 20:24, 27 February 2018 (UTC)
