Redirect
[edit]I deleted the original article text, which clearly had NPOV and copyright issues and was neither informative nor encyclopedic, and for the time being the article redirects to Kayo Dot, the newer incarnation of this band.Onlyemarie 20:07, 13 Apr 2005 (UTC)
Major Cleanup
[edit]I reverted the text on this page to the previous version while maintaining some of the header changes made by Avador. I made this revision because Avador's overhaul had contained numerous instances of misspelling, incorrect information, or presumption on the author's part. 12:11, 27 Feb 2006 (EST)
- As far as I know, I have fully conferred the article to the MoS, I have reinstated most of my text, while correcting some of the issues you mentioned. Much of what I have placed is information I have gathered, in my own word, from various website with information about the band (from both wikipedia and other places. The purpose of my edits was to make the articles easier to read for someone who was not familiar with the band or wikipedia in general. I recently reverted to my last version, because two of the last anonymous users had deleted much of sections & information, which is a crucial part of nearly all of wikipedia articles (i.e., deleting the headline text, and making it show nothing but some of the bands genres). - I felt that stating that "longtime members lost interest" was presumptive, so I reverted that sentence to the previous version's. 1:49, 14 Mar 2006 (EST)
Template
[edit]I added the template and cleaned the article text up a bit. --86.13.227.234 17:52, 31 March 2007 (UTC)
Influences
[edit]I see a couple of influential genres are mentioned in the article. I agree on doom metal, indie rock, progressive metal but I don't understand why new age is mentioned. New age to me is keyboard laden music made for meditating/relaxing. With artist like Enya or maybe Vangelis or even the nameless CD's that can be bought at The Body Shop etc. with crappy titles like "The Sounds of the Sea" and other CD's chockfull of keyboards, singing birds and flowing rivulets. motW were not doing that, were they?
When listening to motW I hear more notable influences. Like death and black metal (songs like "They Aren't All Beautiful" (Bath) or "Riseth He.." (Leaving Your Body Map)). Sometimes I hear jazz and classical music listening to the chord progressions and arrangements/use of instruments (songs like Interlude 4 (Leaving Your Body Map)). Emmaneul 09:40, 23 April 2007 (UTC)

Is this a notable band?
[edit]I have heard about them, and they are awesome, actually, but are they notable? The article doesn't contain any reliable sources, same goes for the interwiki links as well. During a search I couldn't find anything reliable, just the usual databases, retail sites, blogs, forums and lots and lots of trivial mentions and sites where the words are separated. They don't seem to be notable, but if reliable sources would be presented, I change my mind. (And I know this is not an Afd, but still...) GhostDestroyer100 (talk) 19:34, 29 May 2021 (UTC)
